Whenuapai Conditions of Grazing
- The current grazing fee is set at $60 per horse per month.
This to be revised & set by Committee annually.
First Payment to be made when horse arrives on grounds,
then Monthly. Payments are to be paid to the Grazing Manager or
(in their absence Secretary). An Automatic Payment can
be set up on request! or maybe a requirement.
Any graziers whose fees are overdue may be asked to surrender
their position.
- Temporary removal of your horse from the grounds will
still require payment of grazing fees to hold your position.
If payment ceases you will need to reapply.
- Grazing on club grounds are firstly offered to those who
have no grazing of their own or have no transport and are
restricted to fully paid up and active members.
Any friends who wish to ride but are NOT members are to
pay a $10 ground fee.
- Horses may be required to leave the grounds during winter
to spell the grounds. This will be determined by the Committee
Annually and you will be given at least 1 months notice.
- Horses grazed on club grounds are the owners responsibility
and are left at their own risk. Whenuapai Pony Club Inc.
accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to property or
injury to horses or riders.
- A Worming Programme Will be administered and you
are required to follow this as per the Grazing Managers
requirements. Worming is at owners expense and is required
to be done in front of Grazing Manager. New horses to
programme will be kept separate until direction is given by
Grazing Manager.
There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this programme.
- Horses will be rotated to rest paddocks and owners must ensure
their horse remains in the designated area, If your horse needs
to be moved for a particular reason you MUST contact the Grazing
Manager for confirmation.
- Horses may be separated at the discretion of the Grazing Manager
if problems are occuring within a group.
- Owners are to make themselves available to move their horses
when required.
- Graziers are to ensure their horses are caught and penned during
all rallies and events, regardless of your attendance at these. If you
are unable to move your horse on the morning please confine them
to the large pens the night before or make arrangements with another
grazier to move your horse.
- Temporary grazing may be given by the Grazing Manager with
due consideration to current graziers.
- No member may graze more than one horse at any onetime,
unless permission is approved by the Committee. Addditional
horse/s must be removed immediately if another club member
wishes to commence grazing and the club is at capacity.
- Starvation Pens are available for use and MUST be mucked
out when used. Please keep them clean and tidy.
Failure to do so will result in loss of privilege. It is your
responsibility to check water is available and it is sufficient.
- To prevent unnecessary fighting amongst horses!
DO NOT feed in grazing paddocks.
- Please notify the Grazing Manager/Property Manager of
any broken fences or water leaks OR any other damage you
notice on the grounds OR if You can, fix the problem.
- Riders MUST WEAR HELMETS at all times when riding.
- When riding on grounds, 16 yrs & Under MUST have an
Adult present. is preferred that ANY Rider has someone
with them at all times incase of an accident.
- All members JUMPING must have an adult present,
& beside the jumps you are jumping.
- No jumping of cross country jumps once flags
have been put on them.
- Please be considerate of other riders on grounds.
They may not be experienced, Could have a young horse,
Or could be nervous.
- Any equipment taken out and used - Please ensure you put
it back where it came from.
- Any horse that causes injury may be separated or removed
from the grounds at the discretion of the Grazing Manager
- When washing horses, please ensure you use it sparingly
and in a bucket as the club pays for any water used.
- If the Sign “GROUNDS CLOSED" is displayed - NO RIDING IS
PERMITTED
- Get to know your fellow graziers. You never know when or
if you might need to help each other out, OR you might like
to arrange a routine to check on each others horse or even
ride with each other.
